牛羊下来久，

The sheep and cattle come to rest,

各已闭柴门。

All thatched gates closed east and west.

风月自清夜，

The gentle breeze and the moon bright.

江山非故园。

Remind me of homeland at night.

石泉流暗壁，

Among rocks flow fountains unseen;

草露滴秋根。

Autumn drips dewdrops on grass green.

头白灯明里，

The candle brightens white-haired head.

何须花烬繁。

Why should its flame blaze up so red?

古诗大意：

日暮时分，牛羊缓缓回村归厩，家家户户都陆续关好了柴门村庄里弥漫着柴火燃烧和饭菜上桌的香。

月华如水，小风轻拂过每一个掌灯的屋檐。可是，这安宁祥和的夜晚、这美丽的山川都不是在自己的家园。

清冷的泉水从石壁上静静流过，微凉的秋露悄悄滴入草根。

明亮的灯光下，发已如雪，韶光已逝，灯芯何必还频繁结花报喜呢？
